56 AAC w/Muffler: II
Key Features
- The overpowering choice for .40 size models
- Highest performance in its class
- Lightweight AAC construction
Overview
Many pilots of .40 size airplanes are powering their models with .50 size 4-stroke engines like Saito's famous FA-50. Captivated by the sweet sound of a 4-cycle engine, they also appreciate the slightly higher static thrust that comes via a bigger diameter prop.
For pilots who long for the thrill of overpowering their model, Saito offers the FA-56 and FA-56GK engines. Saito took the proven .50 and bored it out by 1.4mm to arrive at a .5612 cubic inch displacement. While the weight remains nearly identical to the .50 (15.5 ounces w/muffler), the power difference is remarkable. In fact, a 1,000 RPM gain was recorded with an APC 12x7 propeller!
The FA-56 features AAC piston/cylinder type construction (aluminum piston, aluminum cylinder with chrome plating), while all other components are the same as on the FA-50. For fliers wanting to lend a touch of class to their aircraft, the GK version of the .56 features a gloss black finish with polished gold valve covers. Of course, as with all Saito engines, the FA-56 and FA-56GK come with a full 3-year warranty.
If you want blazing performance and that 4-stroke purr for your model, check out the Saito FA-56.
